Grade K

Welcome to Kindergarten!

2016-2017 School Year

Hello! My name is Cindy Salah and I will be your child’s Kindergarten Teacher for the upcoming 2016-2017 school year. I am looking forward to an exciting and productive year with your child.

This will by my third year at Mother of God School and my second year with Kindergarten. I am a graduate of Franciscan University. I have taught in both traditional and nontraditional educational settings from Pre-K to 8th grade. Kindergarten is my favorite grade to teach!

Joining our classroom this year will be Mrs. Sheila Shukla. Mrs. Shukla has many years of experience teaching elementary aged students and will be a great asset with reading this year. She will be our full-time Teacher Assistant here in Kindergarten.

I have five rules that I use in my classroom that I believe encompasses all types of behavior. I have included them in this letter so that you might have a better idea of how my classroom management module works:

  1. Respect the teachers, your friends, and yourself.
  2. Keep your hands, arms, legs, and feet to yourself.
  3. Raise your hand when you want to speak.
  4. Be a good friend.
  5. Always do your best!

Please review these rules with your child before school starts so that they have a better idea of what to expect in my classroom.

If you have any questions or concerns about the upcoming school year, please feel free to contact me at csalah@mogschool.com.  There will also be an open house on Sunday, August 28th; more information will be coming out when it gets closer to that event. The school website is also a great resource for calendar events and happenings at Mother of God School. School supplies can be dropped off at this time as well. Please make sure that your child’s name is on everything.

I look forward to meeting you and your child! My mission as a Kindergarten Teacher is to instill in each child a love of learning and a curiosity about the world around them. I look forward to a productive, fun-filled, and positive school year at Mother of God School.
